So I got of the train today at Parliament station, and for the first time I thought I would try the HQ coffee at the top of parliament station escalator.
So I go and line up, ask the girl for a small latte. I obviously didn't speak up loud enough because she snapped at me, and said "I can't hear you", whilst she was also giving me this nastly look and just staring into my eyes. So I was a bit annoyed and thought well, if she's going to speak to me like that, I will say in a firm and confident tone "small latte" (with a tiny bit of attitude). She continued to just give me that nasty stare. Which I thought was a bit weird.
So anyway she went off to prepare the latte, and I gave the money to the other girl serving and then I went to the end of the counter to pick up my coffee. So the girls finishing it off, and she was putting on the lid begrudgingly, whist still staring at me nastily. I looked back at her, thinking what is her problem. Anyway she handed me my coffee, and somehow part of squirted up through the lid on to me. I'm not sure if I pressed it too hard or she did, but anyway I let out a bit of "sigh", nothing major, just like damn I got it on me, and the sigh wasn't really directed at the girl, even thought it should be because I think she did it on purpose. Anyway, she goes to me "aggghhh, it's not a big deal" and I'm like walking off , licking my arm (te he) and I hear her say out loud to me "get over yourself".
Well at that point I was really annoyed and couldn't believe how rude this girl was, so I went back to her and said, "excuse me, I'm the customer, not you, I don't know what your problem is, but you don't say something like that out a loud to a customer" and then she said "whatever, just get over yourself".
My mouth was open from shock and I will really upset, that someone was speaking to me like that, so I said "right I want speak to your manager" and she was like "she's at the other store over the other side" and then I was like "right well I want your name because I want to report this incident" and she didn't want to give it to me, but I insisted.
She finally gave it up. I didn't have time to go see her manager over at the other side of parliament. So whilst working to work, I phoned up the head office and reported the incident. The woman apologized and said she would pass on the information to the girls manager. She also has given me some free complimentary coffee vouchers.
Ok so maybe it wasn't the end of the world, but I have to say I was really hurt by this girl. She made me so nervous and I felt horrible walking to walk. I don't enjoy confrontations, and it was hard for me to go back and stick it to her, but still I felt justified in doing it.
